"Jesus saved me and He healed me and I'm walking in my God given destiny!" - Is this your testimony?

This is what Christ Jesus wants for all of us. There is more to the Christian life than saying a sinner's prayer and hoping that one day we will make it to heaven. Jesus' death on the cross accomplished far more than that. He came to save us, to heal us, to deliver us, to set us free and to establish His Kingdom on earth through us as we each discover how our unique destiny fits into His great plan of redemption for all the nations. This powerful message from NETS Director Jill Southern-Jones begins to encapsulate what we do at Ellel Ministries and why we do it.

Jill begins with Ezekiel 34 in which we discover God's heart for the healing of His people. God is clearly not happy with the shepherds who neglected to properly care for His flock. He says to them "You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured." (verse 4).God then declares that He is against the shepherds and that He will hold them accountable for the way they have treated His flock. He then goes on to say "I will rescue my flock from their mouths" (verse 10).

God is by nature a healer and He is passionate about His people being healed. Jill emphasises the importance of having a healing ministry in our churches, and points out that sadly, many churches today are not healing the sick, nor are they caring for their flock properly. The problem is that the foundations of our lives are often deeply broken and damaged when we come to the Lord. This is a consequence of living for many years in the devil's domain. If we do not know how to bring healing and freedom and restoration to those who become Christians, is it any wonder that many Christians are living defeated lives, always struggling with the same problems and finding it incredibly difficult to really break out into the destiny and purpose God has for them?

The good news is that this is not God's plan for us! We, the children of God are supposed to be in the process of becoming free. Free from the sin that so easily entangles us, free from fear and anxiety, free from addictions, free from physical diseases, and free from anything that is holding us in bondage. When we understand the heart of God for healing and freedom of His people and begin to walk in that each day, we are much better able to take hold of the destiny and plan He has for our lives. Perhaps you are beginning to understand the integral link between healing and destiny?

Each of us are called to be shepherds in one form or another. In His Great Commission, Jesus calls us to make disciples of all nations. In order to do this, we first need to resolve to be good disciples of Jesus ourselves, and that will mean getting things out of our lives that shouldn't be there, and putting things in that should. Whether we are discipling one person or thousands, let us care for our flock with compassion, understanding God's heart for them, and may we see them flourishing and bearing abundant fruit as they walk in their unique destinies in Him.

So, again...

"Jesus saved me and He healed me and I'm walking in my God given destiny!"

May this truly be your testimony as you take hold of the Word of God and apply it to your life with sincere faith and passionate fervour for the King of Kings.
