In this sermon, Ian shares some delicate parts of his own personal story of restoration and offers some powerful encouragement about the way God restores us, not to mention some very practical tips to help us along the journey.
For those who have been through difficult times, Ian reminds us that God will use these trials to shape us and will restore us, because this is His nature. In fact, nothing you have been through will go to waste. He also speaks about how God uses each one of us in His restoration of each other and how we need each other as members of the Body of Christ.
Ian suggests that we record the 'memorial stones' in our lives in a journal of some sort so that we can go back and take encouragement from them and to help us stay strong in our faith in our more difficult of moments. It is all part of the beautiful mosaic God is making of our lives.
Ian is originally from the UK but was working as a high school teacher in Australia before he moved to the UK to do NETS in 2004. He and his wife Pam are now faithful members of the Ellel Pierrepont team. Ian is the manager of the NETS pastoral team, offering pastoral care to NETS trainees, and is also a member of the leadership team.
Every Friday morning at Pierrepont (Home of NETS) we come together as a community to worship together, take communion and to feed on the word of God. Here you can listen to these Friday Sermons and discover what God is doing among us.
