The conference hall was filled with laughter this week as members of the Pierrepont team acted out the story of Jacob for the first part of Jill's new sermon series. Perhaps some kind of award should be given to Murray Dixon for his excellent performance as Isaac...!

After the drama, Jill expounds the story and draws practical points about the way Jacob and his family handle their relationships. Isaac and Rebekah had a dysfunctional marriage, and each of them had their own 'favourite' son. Furthermore, the home environment shaped Jacob into a man who would steal his brother's birthright, and the manipulate and deceive his father into giving him the blessing that would normally be given to Esau the firstborn. However, as we know 'A man reaps what he sows'... tune in for part two!
