Friday Sermon 'Nehemiah's Joy!'

Jill continues her series on Nehemiah and picks up in Chapter 8. What do the people do when the wall is completed?

They bowed down to worship God and they read from the book of the Law of the Lord. Jill explains that this was God's true purpose for building the wall. God wanted His people to come back to Him. Their lives were in chaos, they needed to hear the word of the Lord and begin to walk in His ways once again.

Here we see Nehemiah and the people rejoicing and experiencing the joy of the Lord after a long, hard battle. They had gone through many obstacles and had proven through tests, trials and tribulations that they would follow their leader under God and persevere until completion.

Jill unpacks many verses in this chapter with fresh insight and makes it applicable to our lives today. Only if God is put back in His rightful place in our lives, will the joy of the Lord truly be our strength, as was the case in the story of Nehemiah.
